Iowa-born Holmes is best known for her biblical trilogy which began with the novel titled: “Two From Galilee: The Story of Mary and Joseph“.
This bestselling classic is about the story of Mary and Joseph.
It was one of three top 10 best-selling novels of 1972.
In fact, “Two From Galilee: The Story of Mary and Joseph” was made into a musical created and written by Robert Sterling and Karla Worley.
Holmes aka “the patron saint of housewives”, wrote a twice-weekly syndicated column, “Love and Laughter,” for the now-defunct Washington, D.C., Star from 1959 to 1973 and a monthly column, “A Woman’s Conversations With God,” for the same paper from 1970 to 1975.
91 year old Marjorie Holmes died on March 13, 2002 at a nursing home in Manassas, Virginia after suffering a series of stroke.
