First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt’s Accomplishments

Anna Eleanor Roosevelt was married to 32nd President of the United States Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1905. Franklin was actually her distant cousin.

She was an active First Lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945. This American political leader helped to promote the New Deal policies of her husband, and she also took an active role as an advocate for civil rights.

She even had her own newspaper column entitled My Day; where she voiced out for human rights, women’s issues, and children’s causes.

Eleanor was one of the co-founders of Freedom House and supported the formation of the United Nations.

Anna Eleanor Roosevelt died on November 7, 1962.
